I retired in May of 2019 and started a business in July. It really was a snowballing whim. My friend Diane (who has been my sister in my heart for 28 years) took the plunge with me. We had no idea that our crafty impulse-"hey, let's make some cards!"- would roll. With each step, we realized there was another we had to take. So, we picked names and got domains. But as we thought about throwing some stuff online, we saw the vortex and freaked out. Holding hands, we applied to become LLC's and headed to down to to the Colorado Department of Revenue for sales tax licenses. I had to go twice, because I didn't know I had to register with IRS first and I needed an ID number (FYI- fantastic food truck outside CDOR for lunch). Of course, then we had to learn about about all the sales tax laws, which led to hours of reading about that and how to do our income taxes and business deductions. I really need to take a basic accounting class-not sure baggies of receipts and accounts in a spiral notebook are the BEST way to keep track :). I cannot overstate my gratitude to Diane, my friends Lou and Tammy and my sons, Hank and Nick, and husband, Jeff for their support. I'm sure there are days when they are exhausted by my grumbling, fears, elation, and queries of "what do ya think...?" My advice- if you have an idea, a dream, a drive to grow and re-make yourself- just do it. Go step by step and be prepared to spend a lot of time on google and you tube. Also, ask for help and ask until you understand!

Oh what fun we have had on our past adventure, so why not jump into something new? I would not have done it without your passion and fearless attitude. I am excited to learn about my new craft and can’t wait to see what is in our future. Cheers!
